Becoming an Agent of Change

Today I’ve listen to hardrock FM Jakarta 87.6FM, they are discussed about Jakarta and its public space. They inform us (listeners) that they invite Ridwan Kamil as their resource person. Do you all -The Hartanto Readers- know about him?
Ridwan Kamil
He is an architect, urban designer, writer and educator at ITB Bandung. He is Principal of Urbane, an architecture and urban design studio in Bandung serving international design clients mostly in Asia and Middle East. In 2006, He was awarded as 2006 Young Design Entrepreneur of the Year.
He is also Chair of Bandung Creative City Forum. BCCF was founded by more than 20 creative communities in Bandung aiming to bring Bandung to be the World-class Creative city.
He loves watching movie in cinema, jogs every weekend and rides his Harley to surrounding mountain In North Bandung. You can find more about him here or just simply find his twitter account.

At first I want to raise this topic since this month we celebrate Jakarta Birtday 484th years old. Our lovely city has been full with sooo many problems. From traffic jam, flooded, criminality, and today I was concern about Why we are Jakarta citizen have lack of convenient public space.
Ridwan Kamil, has push himself to become out of the box, he is dreaming to create Jakarta a better place to live. By how?
By designing some architectural building which improve its quality to serve better to the surrounding. So it not always about giving benefit to client (capitalist side) but also to surrounding(ecological side). This is some of examples that I have gather by doing lil’ research from uncle google. *hihihi* But you can find it more in here

My Thoughts about Social Media Marketing

Dear The Hartanto Family Readers, How do you do? ^_^
Today I’m gonna talk about my existence in media social network like blogging, or facebook-ing.
Here it is…
‘Social Media Network’
At previous year, we are aware about this phrase since most of internet user in world using friendster. Have u still remember about it? Yup, I’ve known about friendster just in the past 4-5 years. Have you guys having it? Coz I do.
Online business movement (as I know) start to spread their wings from blogging and launch their step into bigger social networking community like friendster. I join friendster since I was still in college many years ago. I’m also a compulsive online buyer, I do enjoying so much spent sometime to browse some stuff and purchase it right away. Since I THINK it save more money and time, and what we should pay is about ‘ongkir’ a.k.a delivery cost.
Nowadays, we are more familiar about this online shop thingy as it also covered another social media network just like Facebook (FB). I believe you guys have their account, isn’t it?
Business On It
Some of social media network account being used for commercial purpose. Why I said that? Since I’m also one of suspected user it self, OK I’ll have my confession for today : I’m one of them who using it for business purpose…
I’m the online shop owner it self! Hihihi… *big grin*
Why I choose FB for my business channel?
Me as customer love it when I have some experience within the seller it self. In facebook we are able to do that. I could see the stuff, asking about the price, the material, sizing, etc -right away after I put some comments about it and the most important is I don’t have to go anywhere to buy those stuff. Its was quite Fun (I think).
Further, I think many of online shopper prefer to buy some stuff by online rather than go the the real shop it self. How can I said like that?
I could see some increasing number about online shop account especially in FB, some of them selling second hand stuff, some of them selling new stuff, and some of them saying their products were delivered from Korea, etc. Why they do that? Because ‘the valuable market’ is out there!
By doing this lil’ research, I have a conclusion that : Online shop community become bigger and bigger.
Culture Inside of It
What I love about this Media is they give us (community) a lot of new culture.
Greeting. Have you guys being told by someone (by online) in term of : “sist”, “gan”, “bro”, etc ? rather than another greeting we heard in daily life (Mbak, Mas, Pak, Bu). This is a culture they bring into...
This greeting things bring a lot of differentiation in term of customer – seller relationship, we are feels that we’re connecting each other.
Trustworthiness.What we should learn when we have to shop in the online shop is Trustworthiness. How the business running in this online world? I would love to show you my simple design
If u both (customer + Online Shop) didn’t have same reference about thrustworthy I rather ask u to find another online shop seems to have trustfulness. And this is hard, since trust was something that abstract it can’t be seen, and u just have to feel it. Because some of the online shop were also a FAKE account!! Hate those people who doing this!!
So make sure you are both in the same path.
So thats my thoughts about Social Media Network and its marketing activity, later i'll tell u guys more about it...

I think its all about the things we used to say : "MISS-COMMUNICATION".
Yesterday i was too tired, because of those shopping thingy, and i just need a sleep to recovery my body it self. BY doing so, i'm hoping today i will be fresh, and even i could learn n practice for my APTITUDE TEST.
But, here i am, with my restless mind, waiting for yr call, but not even yr SMS were sent to me, until the minute i left this message.

Choosing the Right Path

In real life we must consider something that will be very usefull for our life. What is it?
:MONEY:
Regarding the money, we should gain extra effort to achieve it. Some people get into it by working or some by becoming an entrepreneur. This matter have different kind of path.
First of all, white collar people (8 to 5 workers).
This is what I and Noy Boy get used to do, become 8 to 5 workers, except Noyboy which has an irregular working hour (not scheduled into 8 am to 5 pm). We have been working for some company which pay us to do so. We have told to work on some task and job schedule. We are used to have some ‘take home pay money’ a.k.a sallary each months for what we’ve done.
And my problem is? How can I choose between money and passion to work in.
Somehow, I just can’t stand working where I supposed not been in there, just flash in mind lately, but I need the money!! *Sigh* I need to continuing my life, my future family (our ‘lil family) need money support. But how I should decided between this? Money or Passion?
*Super confused*
Secondly, The one who choose to become an Entrepreneur.
We are becoming our own boss! Running our own business! And somehow for me this is kinda fun activity..Some just named it with Financial Freedom.
But yet, in these situations we cannot receveid any monthly sallary. Since the result ,which our income is much more or less, based on our own activity, our own hard work.
And this is me, on this 2 paths, waiting the right vain to come.. Suddenly, when the office ask me to extend my contract I just say, I DO.
Why I do that?
The only reason just because of Money *ashamed*.
I don’t think I do any passion on this job. I don’t think I give it all to this job. This is just a half of me.
So, choosing the right path, just like chasing pavement, you have to run,run,run, and you’ll never know whether to stop or go when you don’t decided to choose one and just said “let it flow!”

Cactus Day as My Saturday
You may guess? Yes, this is about my sister wedding preparation. Today we're searching for souvenirs, and we decided to have this cactus souvenirs, you can visit them here and ask to meet with Erick.
Its a long and windy road (halah) from our home on Jl. Kalimalang to his workshop on Jl. Swadaya Ujung, Kota Depok. And i will tell you this :
(macica cynts a.k.a maceettsss).. ahaha
But, after several ways asking here, there, everywhere, we finally found his workshop. What we can find and see :
For this tiny souvenirs price start from Rp. 3.500,- and if you want them to have a packaging for your souvenirs as stated in this paper bag all in prices become Rp. 4.400,-.

Why We Should Have Mutual Understanding?
WHY?
Why we should have same understanding about any symbols in our daily life. For example, Why when we came to funeral many people used to wears Black? Why traffic light should colored with Red, Yellow, and Green?etc.
For ME, This Is It.
There are too many language and symbol in life, can you image if we can’t established something that everyone would recognized in any language and in any culture? *Whoa… It will be disaster!
This is about global culture about symbols. We could not make any change and it will never change.
We never know who is the cleverest people on earth that conceived people to use its symbols? No one!
We just called it : Mutual Understanding a.k.a unwritten agreement.
We, people, should adjust our self to have mutual understanding in our mind and I believe when we could do it, it will be Peace On Earth, Yeah!!
I’ll always interested in communication, how people are connected each other by language, how to express feeling, what will happened when we build communication to others.
Like someone say : We can not Not communicate*my fault, I’m forget who say this quote.
So this is me, having conversation with you? Yeah you who reading my blog now.

How to maintain your online shop?
Dear Friends,
Some of you maybe have same interest with me, as I love my onlineshop. The problem how to maintain our onlineshop to be run well?
This just my Idea was it adjustable to your condition so check this out :
1. Leave a good marketing MESSAGE to your customer
As I Know a good mesage is the one who gets the reader’s [Attention] + [Interest] and stimulate a [Desire] for customer to know more about our products and provokes the reader towards [Action] by calling or text you to buy some of your products. Yeay!!

2. EXPERIENCing by yourself about every products you will sell
You can’t say to others if your products were high quality materials, safe to used, etc, if u don’t use it yourself. Experiencing was good, since you put yourself into that products you will now every second detail about it.
So, there will be no Worries if customer asking you bout this and that, you just can saying this in heart : “ Ahhh, that’s just a piece of cake!”… Bwahahah…
3. Create a REPETITION
Make customer aware who you are. More often they see you, the more they will remember you and your products. So when they decided their mind to start to purchase something related to products A, they will refer to you!
How customer ‘see’ you and your products, In my case ( I build my online shop @ facebook), so I Often throw some message in their wall about my product ( use and refer to step1). But, there also some people who didn’t like if they Wall full with onlineshop Promo, just say to them, feel free to remove u if they were quite fun with what you’re doing.
4. Listen to every COMPLAINING
Yess, correct, complaining! Something that would make your ears and head dizzy..hahaha.
Some of customer were just like quen of complain, but listen to what they say, if they complain about what is reasonable just adjust to your situation, does it fit or not ?
Their input maybe good for your own business, and maybe some are not!
5. And the last, added some PASSION into your work
When we have passion about something it means we are on the right track. Because you will not get bored or something, since this is what you really want and you think you best at.
So your choices to become entrepreneur (online business or offline) combine with passion and hard work will guide you to a successful life.

How customer ‘see’ you and your products, In my case ( I build my online shop @ facebook), so I Often throw some message in their wall about my product ( use and refer to step1). But, there also some people who didn’t like if they Wall full with onlineshop Promo, just say to them, feel free to remove u if they were quite fun with what you’re doing.
4. Listen to every COMPLAINING
Yess, correct, complaining! Something that would make your ears and head dizzy..hahaha.
Some of customer were just like quen of complain, but listen to what they say, if they complain about what is reasonable just adjust to your situation, does it fit or not ?
Their input maybe good for your own business, and maybe some are not!
5. And the last, added some PASSION into your work
When we have passion about something it means we are on the right track. Because you will not get bored or something, since this is what you really want and you think you best at.
So your choices to become entrepreneur (online business or offline) combine with passion and hard work will guide you to a successful life.

Welcome back to reality..
Yes! After having such a long weekend, today will be our 1st day routine activity. Some of you maybe come to the office, or back to the campus, etc.
For Me, today i just saw a heavy traffic jam! with 2 motorcycle accident and all of them are women, and the worst part is one of the passangers screaming! and it makes me steal a glance at her just to watch if she's okay. Blah, forget bout that lah ya!

I am riding my motorcycle from Pondok Kelapa, East Jakarta to the office at TB. Simatupang, West Jakarta. Phewww... :P and thanks God, today I am not late at all.. hehe
So I still can join into our weekly toolbox meeting

Seafood Ayu, Kelapa Gading
Last night me and family decided to have a dinner outside. We agree to have seafood at Kelapa Gading. But then before we're going to Kelapa Gading we would like to go to Tambun to see car, since Bowo (my sister fiance) were going to buy ones.
Heyy, all this nite is going late and i'm getting hungry here!!..Hehhe
Then after a long long hour we've just stay to see that car, we decided to have our next trip to Kelapa Gading to eat at Seafood Ayu.
PS : My family just like its taste and its large quantity, but for Me i just can't stand their so LAME a.k.a penyajiannya lambretaaaa.. *ga nafsu lagi mo makan juga*

Yesterday, me and my friends coming to Sawangan, Depok.
We were planned to eat at Saung Telaga RESTO.
FYI, my home is located at east of Jakarta, and sawangan is so far-----faaarr awaaayy from my house, can u imagine, (forget about the traffic jam, since yesterday traffic relatively friendly), we go there by motorcycle, it reach almost 2 hours to go there *Mffiuuhhh*

So, I have given you a reason why we have to spent time (soo many) to get to this place..
